An interesting topic

Like so many other households, ours is a single that differs in opinion on many topics! My hubby and I vary a great deal in our political and social views of the world around us, i know it has to do with both of our upbringings and our options of careers. I am a caregiver at a local senior housing facility where I must face many life and death situations and long-term illnesses on a biweekly basis. My hubby works as a local police officer in the inner-city so every one of us have certainly weird views of the world that is around us, however when discussion that comes up certainly frequently is the legal use of medical marijuana in the treatment of terminal and long-term illnesses. I can see the many benefits of these treatments and know that medical marijuana, and in some cases recreational indulgence should be legalized. My hubby is furious every time I even mentioned this topic because he contends with the use of drugs such as marijuana and worse in a much weird situation.  He goes face-to-face each day with illegal drug dealers and the consequences of those who partake in these as well. The often sees young lives split short by overdose and is 100% completely against the legalization of medical and recreational marijuana, and he feels simply awful by legalizing this so-called “ harmless” drug, it will lead to be more frequent use of hard drugs that take lives on a biweekly basis. He feels that medical marijuana needs to be strictly enforced and regulated and only through, rigorous testing, should it be available to anyone; Because I always see the other side of it where people are suffering from long-term pain or life ending illnesses, I always see the benefits of having it readily available to ease their discomfort. I don’t at all believe that medical marijuana is the answer, to everything, but, if they can make a human more comfortable in the last nights I suppose that it should be a legal option.
