Cannabis for anxiety

I have suffered from social anxiety disorder since I went through puberty.

I’ve been through hours of therapy with very little benefit. I’ve tried prescription medication and was unhappy with the many side-effects. Although there is still a lot of controversy surrounding marijuana to treat social anxiety, I’ve had amazing success with it. When a friend of mine suggested that I make a trip to the dispensary and try cannabis to alleviate my symptoms, I was a bit skeptical. I’d tried smoking flower a few times and found it increased my unease. Along with extreme sense of fear and worry, I also deal with physical side effects such as increased heart rate, sweating and rapid breathing. My friend explained that purchasing cannabis from a licensed dispensary provides confidence in the quality of the product and a lot more options. She recommended that I do some online research and then consult with a budtender at the dispensary. I took her advice and read up on Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD), which are the two most abundant cannabinoids. THC is responsible for the high sensation and CBD has demonstrated anti-anxiety properties. From what I read, combining the two cannabinoids with a higher level of CBD and lower level of THC provides the best results. When I shopped at the dispensary and spoke with a budtender, she urged me to try several different strains. The one called Sour Space Candy is a CBD-dominant hybrid that is purple, orange and green in color. It offers 15% CBD and only 1% THC. I was able to purchase this strain in a pre-roll, and it has been life-changing for me.
