We had a lock down in the neighborhood

I think it is a very tragic indication of the path that our society has taken over the last 50 years.

Some people are so terribly selfish. I was absolutely dumbfounded by the attitude that we received yesterday during a neighborhood locked down. An escaped convict fled the jail the previous night and he was spotted in the same neighborhood as the marijuana delivery service. The police advised us to shut down and all of the employees were told to stay inside of the dispensary until the perpetrator could be caught. That meant no deliveries out of the building. We had a ton of customers scheduled for marijuana deliveries that morning and we could not leave the store. People were pretty upset and they complained over the phone. A couple of people accused us of lying about the lockdown. I told someone to turn on the news and I told another person that they were absolutely selfish to expect us to deliver when there was an escaped convict roaming around the neighborhood like a soccer dad. I mean honestly, what kind of message are we sending to our kids when we say that our personal wants and needs outweigh the safety of others. I think it is a very tragic indication of the path that our society has taken over the last 50 years. They didn’t catch the convict until two and a half hours after the lockdown started. Believe me, we were all ready to get out of that place. We had to sit there in the dark without any of the lights on and we were told to be as quiet as possible so the convict would not be attracted to the building at all. It was probably one of the scariest situations that I have ever encountered.
